The volume Baccio da Montelupo reconstructs the life and career of the sculptor, from his first steps in late 15th-century Florence within Medici circles, alongside Domenico Ghirlandaio and Benedetto da Maiano, and under the star of Girolamo Savonarola, to his definitive establishment in the city of the Medici from the second decade of the 16th century, marked by his relationship with some of the leading masters of the time such as the Della Robbia, with ample parentheses devoted to the artist’s activity between Bologna, Venice and Lucca. The body of sculptures, enriched with many previously unpublished works, is collected in a catalog raisonné of the works, which is followed by a registry and a rich documentary appendix.

  • The work is the result of decades of research aimed at giving shape to a catalog of the artist’s works.
  • The volume is accompanied by a rich documentary appendix.
