About The Event
A two-volume box set, it is dedicated to Cecco Bravo, a master of seventeenth-century Florentine art (Florence, 1601 – Innsbruck, 1660). The author, Francesca Baldassari, one of the most authoritative scholars of the Italian Baroque, offers us a philological reading of the highest level, the fruit of the best Italian critical tradition, the one derived from the teaching of Roberto Longhi. Through an in-depth study of Cecco Bravo’s works and drawings, the two volumes trace the entire artistic career of this talented painter and draftsman. A work that illuminates the fascinating path of an artist who is often underestimated but deserves to be counted among the greats of his time.
